Overview

To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values—integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion—must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.

Why Greenwich Hospital?

Each psychiatrist has a beautiful office, with windows overlooking the grounds.  The hours at the clinic are 8 AM to 4 PM.  We are a small group of physicians, and support each other well, and do a lot of peer supervision on difficult cases. We have 30 minute medication visits, and 75 minute initial evaluations. Employees have potential for hospital owned housing as they transition to this area. We have beautiful grounds, and a well appointed hospital that values and respects the skills a psychiatrist brings to the medical team. Our salaries are competitive. We have excellent vacation and CME time, as well as a CME stipend.

Responsibilities

Outpatient Psychiatrist Position:

We are a smaller, cohesive department of Psychiatry, affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at Yale. We are looking for a new physician. We are an outpatient department, and have General Adult Outpatient Psychopharmacology, ED/CL, Addiction Medicine and Geriatric Psychiatry areas. The responsibilities of a new physician would depend on the preferences of an applicant, but would traditionally be a mixture of ED/CL and Outpatient Psychopharmacology. Additionally there is one weekday night of call, 4 PM to 8 PM. On call physician does not need to remain on site, and there is phone coverage which is very limited, after 8 PM. Additional opportunities for paid weekend call are on a voluntary basis.

Our Emergency Department is very supportive of the psychiatrists and our patients, and we have full SW case management supports to do all insurance authorizations and placements. We have an excellent security team that is always fully available if needed, as well as a brand new behavioral holding area in the ED. When ED/CL service is at a high volume, another outpatient psychiatrist will be assigned to assist the covering physician.
