Able to provide appropriate care to infants, children and their parents, showing sensitivity toward individual needs. Demonstrates knowledge of the ability to provide care to all age groups of children seen in the clinic. Willing to accept responsibility for individual job requirements and performance. High school graduate. Completion of a medical assisting program and certification required.
1-2 years in clinical setting
Ability to read, write, and understand the English. Basic clerical skills with experience in computer/fax and medical terminology. Knowledge of basic patient care. Demonstrates the ability to understand and learn care of children including feeding, changing and obtaining vital signs. Proficient in management of stock items. Is able to work closely with physician and clinic personnel to maintain patient flow in the clinic. Must possess a mature sympathetic and caring attitude with the ability to be sensitive to the varied needs of the Pediatric clinic population. Must be flexible, cooperative, and able to meet the demands of the position using appropriate communication techniques.
Standing/walking most of the day and occasionally working in awkward positions. Helps lift heavy objects ten (10) to twenty (20) pounds and also assists in moving of patients ranging from one (1) to two hundred (200) pounds. Moderate stress related to patient care. May be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous waste. Moderate stress from patient care.
